Howdy All,
Recently my 89 cherokee laredo automatic 2x4 has lost the ability to run in reverse. I performed a transmission fluid and filter change in hopes it could solve this issue, it did not.
I've skimmed through multiple threads and forums and I've gathered it could either be the solenoids, the NSS, the TCM, ect. From what I can tell the TCM is fine. And I wanted to get an opinion from here before I went and spent the money on the solenoids. I have full function of the other gears, just not reverse.
Also while I was finishing up with the filter, before I lowered the rear end off the jacks, I started her up and put in Reverse. The tires began to spin. I thought the issue was gone. I lowered the car and attempted to move it into reverse and it wouldn't budge.. So I'm at a loss here. When there is no weight on the tires, they spin fine... Are the Reverse gears in the transmission just shot?
Any feedback is welcomed and greatly appreciated!
Many thanks!
