My son and I are rehabbing a 1967 CJ5. The carburetor needed some work, so I ordered the Rochester 2G rebuild kit. Once I pulled the carb off I realized someone had put a Carter BBD carb on. After poking around online for a while, I did not see many positive remarks about the Carter. At least fewer than for the Rochester. My question is this, for a rolling around town toy. Is it worth trying to rebuild a Carter that does not belong, or spring 3 bills for a Rochester? Any thoughts out there?
