Good morning,
I'm writing to you from France. I'm the owner of a Wrangler Jeep 2.5 mono point injection of 1989.
I'm facing a problem with my engine. When I start the engine, this one stop (most of the time). If I succeed to start the engine, as soon as press the accelerator, the engine run without problem. But in case of deceleration : the engine turn at 2500 rpm (for example), I release the accelerator then the engine stop. Sometime when I'm driving the engine restart by his own.
Other point, I have an erratic regulation of idle speed (maybe the problem is linked)
engine speed increase to 2000 rpm then drop quickly to 1000 rpm then to 850 rpm (approximately)
Is the idle speed regulator implicated in a deceleration ?
I did different checking :
Change fuel filter
Check the wiring (moved every connection while engine is running)
Check resistance value of air and water T° sensor (seams OK)
Change the hose between depressure sensor and manifold, check the voltage
Check fuel pressure with manometer (about 1 bar and stable)
Check the filter of the injector
I have started my engine without fuel oil tank cap --> no change
Other checking
-when the engine is at idle speed, I moved the feed back of the carburetor valve. It seems to have no or a little influence on engine. Is it normal ?
-I have disconnected the T° sensor (air and water) one by one without any influence on my engine problem
If somebody has an idea of what can be done or check ? Thank you in advance
