Salute to Underappreciated Shop Tools

jeudi 18 décembre 2014

This is a chance to pay homage to those hard working shop tools that don't have an outline on the pegboard, a spot in your toolbox, or even a dark corner under your bench. It sounds silly, but that's only half the point. The other half is to clue others into your ingenuity, and maybe we'll all learn something. I'll go first... And second ;)

I salute you cardboard:

You make the best templates for fabrication. You are the perfect spray paint shield. You protect my garage floor from spills and drips. You keep my delicate treasures off the rough garage floor.

I salute you 4x4 block of wood:

You make a great anvil. You make a dandy Jack spacer (safety first). You are fantastic as a backing for drilling holes in stuff. I couldn't hardly use my shop press without you.
