I have a cj7 with 4.0 head and a 2100 motorcraft with e-choke.
I just can't get the choke to work right. High idle is about 1000 rpm, carb idle about 650.
My problem is, that when i rotate the choke housing so that pressing the throttle pedal all the way in results in going into high idle it won't come down to carb idle even with the motor warmed up. The coil rotates and i can just touch the lever a little bit by hand and the idle goes down. It just doesn't work alone.
If i rotate the coil the other way and i manually put the carb in high idle it comes down to carb idlewhen warmed up. It's just no more possible to get into high idle just using the throttle.
Do you get what i mean? It almost works, it just doesn't get the last little kick to fall down when warm.
Just like the coil doesn't rotate enough?
Any screws i overlooked?
Any suggestions?
Maybe switch to manual choke...
