I have a 78 CJ7 sitting in my garage. I have been wanting one for awhile and this one found me. Not certain if its the right one so I thought I would ask ya'll. Let me preface by saying I am a 29 year old female with zero mechanical knowledge. My first car was a jeep wrangler and I have been wanting a CJ for awhile just for fun. I haven't purchased yet, my dad actually just bought it for 2,500 so that is what it would cost me if I chose to keep it. I am wondering where to start on fixing it. I will have to pay to get the work done. Any ideas on cost? It runs but idles a bit fast (I have been told). It's an automatic v8 and I am curious about the 4 wheel drive, esp the thing in glove box (check out pics). Is that how they came or did someone rig it that way? I am wanting to get it looking good (new paint, dash, tires and wheels ect) and running well enough to cruise around town. Any ideas? Suggestions?
