New exhaust ideas for 89 YJ

lundi 7 avril 2014

I have a 1989 YJ that I recently did an SOA lift on and I am starting to find the little things here and there that I want to change. Right now my exhaust is starting to become quite annoying. Ever since the SOA I have noticed that my exhaust tends to rub or be too close to things that it wasn't before. I have noticed that where the exhaust dumps off from the exhaust manifold that it is a bit to close to my front drive shaft and I have had to give it a good kick to stop the annoying chatter coming from it. It also likes to rub against my passenger side rear leaf spring, that problem I solved with three heavy duty zip ties, and they say the most permanent fix on a jeep is a temporary one so we will see how that holds up. My question is, is there a got to have exhaust system for a yj that would add clearance that isn't above the 500-800 dollar level? My next question is this: I have a ~1" T-case drop that i fabbed up to help with driveline angle from the SOA, I also have a SYE from Advance Adapters, and a Tom Woods CV drive shaft. With this combo I have phenomenal driveline angles in the rear and front. IF I were to take out the t case drop to help bring the exhaust up with it since it sits on the skid, would that hinder my drive line angle to the point its gonna bust u-joints left and right? I am also just as worried about the front? considering its in 4 wheel drive just as much as it is in 2. would love some insight on the topic, and some exhaust recommendations would be appreciated!
