I would like to thank whom ever runs this site.
I was on "the other jeep forum" and was appalled by the amount of misinformation that was being spread which led me to this forum.
After reading a few posts here, it seems that those who spread misinformation are pretty much called out and pushed away.
I am going to be refinishing my bumpers this spring. I am trying to find opinions about what I should spray/brush on them to make the finish a little more durable. I anticipate stripping them down to bare metal and starting fresh. This Jeep was purchased for fun. It is not a daily driver. I do wheel with her about twice a month for an entire weekend, often sleeping on the trail. I was considering using POR-15, but when I went to the shop to purchase a kit, I was informed that POR-15 wasn't designed for what I was wanting to do. They suggested a few things from
3M, a product called EVERCOAT, SEM, and Devilbiss. However, I do not know much about those products.
As a side note... what brought me here...... an individual on "the other wrangler forum" had made a suggestion to use plasti-dip spray to prevent rust, and other forum members were embracing what this individual said because he had 6,000+ posts. There is no way that plasti-dip would survive very long on my Jeep in the densely wooded trails that I ride in New Hampshire and Maine.
