This is my 2nd WJ, a 2004 4.7L V8 with Quadra Drive and no floor mats . 69k on the clock. As it sits, it's got 118k. Purchased in... January of 2011 I believe.
This is the only picture I have of it TRULY clean. The night I brought it home. I didn't really have many plans, if any, for it in the first place, but I slowly started catching on after my curiosity got to me.
I will say that this thread SO FAR will basically be a timeline of the pics I salvaged from my computer. I haven't been too anal about catching a picture of every little thing. So forgive me if I skip the interesting stuff and trudge on with all the boring stuff.
First thing done was transporting the radio from my old WJ. Pioneer DEH-11E I believe. It was a nice cheap HU that put out good power for the price. I also got an iPod holder for Christmas which really came in handy for awhile.
That is until I made a major upgrade to a Kenwood KIV-BT901 which was installed with a mic, iPod/USB cable, Steering wheel control adapter (still going strong), and also a pair of Polk Audio DB6501 component speakers. I put the tweeters in the dash to replace the bustem OEM "tweeters" and the woofers went into the front doors. The crossovers went underneath the rear seat. I had some good rattles after the speaker installation so I went with FatMat, a cheaper alternative to MegaMat. Same stuff, it's a sticky grey tar-like material, just rolls on the door. Installing this in all 4 doors greatly reduced the rattles from the bass vibrations and also seemed to tighten the bass up a bit. I'll see if I can find some pics of all this across all my other devices...
Had a problem spot here on the driver's door. Just wouldn't stop rattling. I ended up taping a wad of gauze to that area and it fixed it for the most part.
Nice and discrete.
No more fooling around with an iPod. Everything is run through the head unit.
The summer after getting my Jeep I took it to the beach where havoc ensued... A pot of oil ended up being spilled onto the roof of it and then this happened:
I let my friend drive it while I stayed at the house and he drove it through the flood :brickwall: And said at that at one point a wave crashed over the hood . Yet no worries it's been about 2 years and I think this is the worst I have to show for it.

At this point in the summer I was making money and started to get into offroading with my WJ. Still completely stock on 235/65/17 BFG Long Trails. Great street tires by the way. Lasted ATLEAST 60k on my WJ. Tore through mud and snow like I didn't think they could. My first "mod" was quick discos with a cotter pin and rubber bushings. That ended terribly and was quickly removed.
I went a few times to a local creek while stock and had some good fun.
Very steep incline.
Now I knew that I needed atleast a transfer case skid if I was to head back out on the trail again at stock height. I found a used one on JF and also a set of Overland rails on JF. The front skid came later on after I had a huge stick shoot up through my front end while wheeling one night.
Yup that's how I mounted the skid plate.
That's the best I could do stock. Somewhere around that time I changed both diffs, TC fluid, and engine oil at some point:cool:. There weren't many big upgrades for a while, just a few things here and there. I got new rear speakers, wired up an amp, and cut the torque control wire for the tranny.
Small 4 channel at about 80wx4 at 4ohms. And it's about the size of a VCR tape.
I took a wheeling trip to Gulches here in South Carolina completely stock before I decided to add a lift and tires. I aired down as much as possible, disconnected the front, and hit the trails. I believe a friend of mine joined in his LJ.
Soon after I decided to purchase and install a lift. I went with Old Man Emu springs, Bilstein 5100s, JKS adj. trackbar, and also a Moog steering stabilizer. I disconnected my rear swaybar for good at this point.
I installed the lift myself one weekend before heading back to school. I was very proud when I was finally finished.
The track bar FWIW...

There is alot that I'm leaving out but for now I will leave with a beginning and now picture to match things up. I'll be back to finish this post at a later date.
