A question for those rocking safari racks/baskets

On my WK I have some roofbars which were on the far when I bought it. Annoyingly there were no keys for them. I have had a look at others with roof bars and mine seem a lot I

Higher then others.

I was wondering those who have safari racks / baskets how do you have them mounted. Is it to the recoverable roof bars or the bars which are bolted to the cars roof.
