CJ5 80 - can't put back steering wheel

I removed the steering wheel to replace the turn signal lever



After replacing the turn signal lever I tried to reasamble the steering wheel, but I think it retracted or something as I seem to be missing an eanch of two, of the colum where the steering wheel is placed













Has this happend to anyone? Anynody knows how to fix it?
