Just bought a jeep a few months ago and I want to do a complete tune up.
It's a 1997 xj cherokee 4.0 with the ax15 trans. She has almost 111,000 miles.
Here some questions.
What is the best motor oil to use? There is a slight tick at idle. I changed it right when I got it and put valvoline high milage 10w-30 (red bottle) with the purolator gold filter. I've heard good things about rotella but not sure.
What is the best manual trans fluid to use? I know that you can't use the gl-5 gear lube in it because the sulfur reacts with the brass syncros.
I've heard good things about red-line mt-90 and amsoil. Are there any others that are a bit cheaper? $65/gal is ridiculous!
What are the best spark plugs and wires to use in the jeep? I want her to be purrin like a kitten! I've heard about champion copper, but not sure yet.
