Long story short.. XJ Dana 44 rear axle from my old XJ, locker originally installed in 00 and rough guess of 50K miles on it. Recently rebuilt entire rear axle and added ZJ bracketry. Axle is now in the Grand.
Locker was never removed from carrier during rebuild.
Now i'm experiencing louder than normal ratcheting when turning in reverse and fwd, hard engagement when turn finished. Sometimes if on throttle a bit heavy it doesnt unlock on a turn at all, can hear the tire chirping but that could be normal..
This sound like a worn unit? Anyone have pics of a worn unit? I have to drain and refill the gearlube soon because of R&P breakin anyway, thought i'd pull the locker, inspect and toss in my original spider gears at that time if needed.
