I have a cobra 19 ultra III hooked up to my new Browning center coil antenna. the antenna is mounted via a mirror mount on my roof rack in the dead center of the roof. The mount is grounded to the chassis with 12ga wire. I was able to partially tune the antenna, but the readings for channel 1 and 40 are both FAR over 3. Checked the resistance between the cable and antenna, all good. I just got the antenna, and paid a lot for it, so I'll be damned if I have to get rid of it. Is it not grounded well enough? I currently have it hooked to my old professionally installed sub ground line.
