Finally got to shoot some paint today

vendredi 21 mars 2014

The weather finally warmed up enough to shoot some paint on the Jeep today. It is a single stage urethane shot with a Harbor Freight HVLP gun. This is my first paint job so I am happy with the results so far. No orange peel but I did get a few runs near the end. I got greedy and tried to pile on the paint on one of the fenders. I sprayed the single stage over urethane primer that was block sanded too many times. I thought I had all the dings and dents out but once the shinny stuff went on there were a few places that popped out. I am hoping to spray the body and hood tomorrow. The only problem I have had is dust nibs getting in the paint but without a booth I don't think there is an easy solution.
