We should have a contest for fun and our mutual education and for a useful purpose too.
Who can find the longest/largest filter that fits a Jeep 4L engine?
To be eligible, it has to be able to fit the engine and into the engine bay of XJ and TJ, and meet the specs listed below:
In the event of a tie for size/volume, the filter with the finer filtration wins. Please list the specs of the filter you enter in the contest.
If two people enter the same filter, the one who posted first has claim on it.
For the winner, I'll buy him or her two Wix 51515 filters and a case of Lucas 0-40 oil for their 4L.
(I've been using Mobil One 0-40 and it's been great, but I'm switching to Lucas because I think it's even more awesome stuff. Both brands have higher Z&P than any other modern car oils for modern gas engines that I know of, but Lucas 0-40 Z&P is even higher than Mobil One Z&P.)
I'll declare a winner April 20th and then I'll order and ship the goodies to the winner.
(If anyone cares, I got a pay raise and I want to share the wealth a little bit and also have some fun and gain some knowledge for all of us in the process.)

21 micron or finer filtration, an anti-drain back valve, full flow design, By-pass valve psi 8-11, gasket diam 2.834 OD, 2.462 ID.

Why Wix 51515 filters? Because I personally know it's awesome from past personal experience. If I'm going to put down $ for filters, it's going to be for a filter I trust (even though it's your motor, ha ha). In the future, you can buy your own brand of filter with your own $ after using up the two freebies I send you.
