I am currently installing new bearings and races in my 83 CJ7 widetrack Dana 30 front end. After installing the new races and bearings, I noticed that one hub sits further "outboard" from the steering knuckle by about 1/8 inch. At first I thought that perhaps I had installed the races backwards, (inboard in the outboard position) so I swapped the races position, and still have the same problem. Next I moved the hubs to the opposite sides of the axle, same hub is still "outboard" by about an 1/8" even on the other spindle. The races are definitely seated all the way. Could one of the hubs have been replaced by a P.O. and be out of spec? I am out of ideas as to what could be causing this.
