hey guys,
been researching a couple weeks now and have not found answers to some of my questions. i am considering lifting my wives wj for her for xmas i have done lifts on s10(2" suspension, 2" body), and my dodge ram(rough country 2.5"). For the wj i am considering the X flex rough country 4" short arm, the IRO 4" short arm, and the IRO 3". wanting it for light wheeling/camping in local hunt clubs and uwharrie in NC. I would be willing to add long arms later just not immediately. i have considered just waiting as we have contemplated getting a TJ or JKU, but the JKU is at least 3 years out(pay my truck off first), the TJ could be within the next year, but i like the grand for the trunk space on camping and hunting trips, especially if we the kid. This is also her DD.
My main questions are:
1. Which of the three lifts and why?
2. would it be too tippy off road and on if i leave it with the 30.5" current tires and stock wheels until i find the wheels and tires she likes?
3. would the 4.0l struggle too much for this kind of wheeling?
i know a lot of people like the 4.7, but i purposely sought a 4.0l when we bought it 2 years ago because of the ease of repairs on this motor and its simplicity. i am an ASE certified tech but hate working on my own vehicles and we see bunches of the 4.0l's with 200-300k on them.
thanks and I'm sure i will have other questions
