I have a gas tank seepage developing on top on of the tank. I'm not sure this is the orig tank, but it could be. Since they are relatively cheap, I bought and will install a new stock tank and sender.(Omix). Also weeks ago I installed a clear gas filter ahead of the metal filter at engine, wanted to see what was coming out of tank. Not pretty...I'll post a pic of that filter shortly.
Was able to see a couple of youtubes, and searched and read here. Understand the need for usual jackstands and jacks, etc.
Once all the skid bolts are out, and the tank is supported and ready for lowering, when do you get to the filler and return neck and other areas that might bind? How are these attached? Old clamps? I'll be replacing both hoses there, as well as any rubber lines on top the tank as well. And blow out the metal lines, etc.
Can someone give me a short list in order so I know what's coming? When and how to loosen these areas, and any others that might need attention along the way? Would hate to find out the hard way by doing something backwards, etc. Trying to minimize mistakes and time spent. Any other tricks would be most appreciated, my first time doing this.
Thanks ahead of time!
