I've been sitting on the sidelines for quite a while looking around the forum without ever making an account. I figured anything I had a question for I could Google it and get an answer. Now I have one I can't find an answer to.
Couple months ago I was looking for a WK, Hemi or CRD. Really wanted a diesel and found one close to me. It was sort of a impulse buy regretfully, I took a leap of faith on it. Didn't have maintenance records. I've had to repair some things that were wrong with it and some other stuff has since happened. Nothing big, Key Fob quit working, boost leaks, things like that. It didn't have the Elephant Mod. Anyways, its an 08 with 105,000 miles and from what Ive seen the maintenance on it through the previous owner was probably not that great, probably not bad, but not great. Since I can now search on the forum I am coming across all kinds of things about the CRD. I am now pretty scared of my Jeep. I could have got a 09 Hemi with 30,000 less miles on it for the same price and now I am thinking I should sell this CRD and do just that.
The CRD seems to run just fine but without knowing how its been treated for the first 100k miles, should I sell it before it becomes a nightmare or have I maybe knocked the dings out of it now and should stick it out? I really want something reliable and thought the CRD would be just that. I have read all of the Hemi vs CRD threads but what kind of situation am I in not really knowing the true condition of this diesel? I think the Hemi and CRD would fit my needs so in the aspect of what I am using it for, doesn't really lean one way or the other.
