Hi all, I had my Novak shifter kit along with SYE, rebuilt the 231 TC, new driveshaft installed today by a Jeep specialist.:cheers2:
Having some issues with the TC shifting:
If Jeep is on Drive, the transfer case will shift from 2h straight to neutral, skipping 4h.
If the Jeep in on Neutral, transfer case would shift normally - 2h-4h-n-4l
The Novak shifter knob wobbles, not firm.
Everything was installed per their instructions and double checked, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Few other things that started happening after the installs (just in case it would help to figure out the problem(s): Speedo stopped working completely (used to work, just not correct speed), transmission shifter too sensitive, you have to shift extra carefully from P to N, etc, otherwise it skips easily and the arrow on the column indicator is a bit off, no matter what it's on. Check engine light came on.
The RPMs are higher than usual (it was always high as I am on 4.56), but it seems very high, around 3KRPM at 25mph. That I have to double check when I go at over 55mph though, I might be wrong.
It is a 1993 YJ, 3 spd Auto, 4.56 gears, approx 4.5" lift.
Thanks much in advance.
