Finding a ground

Hey...hopefully this is in the correct forum. Recently attempted to turn on my fog lights unsuccessfully. I hope it's maybe a fuse and not the switch. Headlights, high beams and signals all work. I'm even getting the display on the dash that the fog lights are on. Put a new bulb in one of the lights and neither one came on. Now I purchased a test light to test the fuses but I'm not sure if the wire is long enough to reach from the battery to the interior fuse panel. Is there somewhere on the inside that I can clamp this light instead of going to the battery? Please let me know. Thanks
