HD No-Lift + Hitch - durability?

mardi 11 août 2015

Alright, so in the course of a few threads sAe23 and a few others have convinced me to take a second look at the HD Offroad No-Lift Shackle Reloaction (man that's a mouthful).

I can handle the cutting and drilling as long as I don't run into too much rust. My concern is TOWING. I'm a little worried about putting a 1/4" plate between my unirail and 3 of the 4 bolts on my hitch. I don't tow constantly, but when I do it's a 20' RV on a weight distributing hitch and I need my hitch to stay as solid as the tissue box on wheels allows.

Anyone run a shackle relocation like HD or Liquid Iron's AND tow? How'd it hold up?

Any thoughts on whether the edges of the shackle relocations would be likely to create stress points/tears in the unirail with the hitch prying around on top of them?

Any concerns that the HD relocation looks to require drilling through the unirail to actually attach the shackle? I'm worried it could really weaken things if you have to test multiple locations in set up and then potentially use more of them later on if the setup changes.

Thanks all for any input :cheers2:
