I have a 1979 CJ5. Stock brake system. I recently replace the drum brakes (along with wheel cylinders) and haven't had good solid brakes since. I can pump and get some pressure, but most of the time I have to have the brakes on the floor to stop. I'm fairly confident I installed the new brake shoes correctly. Did I dislodge something bad in the proportioning valve while replacing the wheel cylinders? I've put 3 containers of dot 3 fluid through it bleeding the brakes and still nothing.
Bad proportioning valve?
