Ive been looking up front trackbars tonight for some reason, and have a few concerns/questions.
I have a Procomp JTB400 bar with a flex joint at the frame side. From what Ive read, this is not a very good setup, and a ball joint setup is actually better. I was looking at possibly changing the flex joint with a TRE assembly, but Ive drilled the frame mount to 5/8" for the flex joint, so Im not sure if a TRE is possible without welding. Is it really that 'bad' to have a flex joint here?
I also looked into double shear mounts... are they worthwhile? Would I need to replace the entire trackbar as well or could I just buy a mount for my current trackbar? It looks like IRO is pretty much the only company that makes one.
EDIT: I forgot to ask, Ive also heard that some trackbars can actually 'flex' themselves (the bar itself; not the joint or bushing). Is this common? I imagine that if it was flexing slightly, there would be some slight wobble, right?
