Hey all. I'm new to working on cars, so please forgive my lack of knowledge. Anyway, I just bought a 93 YJ (4cyl, manual), and I found what I believe is a transmission in a bag in the backseat. Is there a way I can tell if it's usable?
Side note: unless I shift very slowly, the gears grind, so I'm thinking I need either a new clutch or new transmission, and maybe the owner before last grabbed one and didn't install it before he sold the YJ to the previous owner. I've checked all the fluids and they're full/clean.
Any thoughts?
