I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.0. I replaced the fan clutch in it twice, and the new on seems to not be working. I never hear it kick on, and the Jeep runs normal temps at highway speeds, but runs hot in the city. (225 or so)
When hot, I can hold the fan blade with a gloved hand while the engine is started, and it will not move. this indicates it is bad, right? Both problem fan clutches have been Murray units. I am ordering a new Hayden unit, hoping for better luck. Are the Murray clutches that bad?
