I'm looking to upgrade my ignition system and I'm trying to figure out what I have. I'm having a hard time identifying my current setup. It appears that I have the prestolite but, there is no plastic vacuum advance piece that jeephammer's article referred to. There is a penny epoxied to the outside of the distributor; I assume thats not factory.
I am assuming that I have the presotlite or some less desirable version as the distributor has points. Can someone confirm for me before I go buy a bunch or parts that won't work.
