I have a 1990 YJ 4.2L engine with a mechanical/in-line fuel pump and fuel filter. How do I test that the fuel pump works and enough gas is making it to the carb?
I can disconnect the inlet line to the fuel filter, after that do I push the pedal down or try to turn it over to see if gas comes out? Also, how much gas should come out if working properly?
Then would I follow the same steps after the fuel filter?
