1998 grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 4 speed auto, has the part time, all time high / low transfer case.
Ok, I know this has been covered one million times but I'm really tired of this one. I just had the transmission output shaft seal (professionally) changed and three days later the dam thing is leaking AGAIN. A new red puddle under the dam jeep. The transmission has been replaced with a used one with 60k on it and we replaced the seal then. It lasted about 5 months and the puddles started again. I then had it changed with a aftermarket seal and done at a shop (thinking I didn't get it in perfectly straight or something). That lasted about 3 months. So, this time I went and picked up an OEM Mopar seal, guess what. Two days after replacement and it's leaking worse than ever. I know it's the output shaft seal and it's dripping out of the weep hole.... AGAIN. Nice new shinny red fluid all over my driveway. What the HE!! is the trick to this? :brickwall:brickwall
If it were a few drips a week, I wouldn't care but it's a 14" diameter circle every dang day........ ERRRRRRRRR
