Short question long backstory.
I have an 05'LJ it will be kept fairly light weight. I use this LJ for work part of the time surveying farm fields, and running rough backcountry roads, so when I say I want a soft ride,I mean a ride that would be too soft for most DD rigs.
I have a TJ that I set up a couple years ago, with Info I got mostly form here, and it works exceptionally well...2.5" ome springs, Rokmen arms, 4.10's out of a 4 banger, prothane bumpstops, and mudb8 half outboarded rancho 5000 shocks...yes white rockets. :teehee:
But in the endless jeep story I ended up with an LJ for the wheelbase, and to build another one, cause I enjoy it. :D
I set the LJ up with a savvy 3" lift, aluminum arms, and an anti rock, running c rated 35's.
The rear springs are too stiff, but I don't have a bumper or spare carrier yet, so I can live with them for now, and they gave me right around 3" of lift.
The fronts are a different story, just barely got 2" of lift, and the ride is pretty harsh.
I can go back to Ome's, but then I need a body lift to clear the 35's which I am not real excited about. so I am looking for the softest riding springs I can find.
PAC offers a 4 inch progressive spring rated at 165 lb/in, which is higher thatn the ome's at 140, but I like the idea of the progressive spring.
I have been in touch with Marty at Savvy, and I think I could exchange my 3" for 4", but I'm not sure that currie springs will provide the ride I'm after.
I'm open to any brand, but I have not heard much good about the rancho,skyjacker,RE stuff.
The way I understand it JK fronts would work, people seem to like the AEV stuff...but It's Pricey, and I haven't been able to find any real specs on there stuff.
Anybody got any input?
