I just put on a new speedo cable (crown I believe). Nothing wrong with the old one but it's a rebuild so a new one was had. The speedo gear and housing at the t-case is new too. Attached that end first. The issue is at the speedo end the nut and flare don't reach the speedo threads before the inner cable bottoms out. It's about a 1/4" too long. Is it common to have to trim these cables down for fit?
