Hey Guys I am new to the forum but have been reading up the last few months in preparation to buy my first wrangler. I am partial to the TJ and plan on buying a sport in the near future. I have found a pretty sweet 1997 with 107,000 miles on it. I have not seen it in person yet but have asked about the frames condition. The dealer told me that it was professionally repaired by an antique car restoration guy (whatever that means). When I go to see it what sort of things should I be looking for on this repair job? I am a certified welder :welder: so I can make sure the welds are good but aside from that I really don't know what to look for. does a proper repair job require cutting out all the rot or can one simply put one of those repair kits around the damage? Aside from the news on the frame this thing looks absolutely mint, perfect paint and interior, no mods and it has two tops (hard/soft). With the limited knowledge I have I think $5,000 is a fair price but the asking is $6,500. Do you think thats reasonable? Also this jeep is black with a red stripe down the side, is that an aftermarket add on or a special trim package? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also a big thank you for Veterans Day to our boys serving and to those who have served, God Bless America :salute:
