Hydraulic Fan Quit Working. Help!

jeudi 13 novembre 2014

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 V8. About a month back my hydraulic fan quit turning and the Jeep will now overheat if not moving. I tested whether it was the hydraulic fan solenoid by unplugging the temp sensor while the Jeep is running and sure enough the fan kicks on its highest setting. Once plugged back in the fan settled down to the lowest setting and then just stops. I decided the only thing left could be the PCM as that hydraulic system is very simple. So I ordered a replacement all programmed and ready to go, installed it today and the fan worked the first startup and then just stopped working. I'm completely out of ideas and so frustrated that I'm almost ready to sell this Jeep.

Any ideas would be very much appreciate! Thanks!
