I have a 1974 CJ5 with the AMC 304 V8. I have drained the gas tank, coated it replaced the sending unit, replaced the fuel pump, the carb, plugs and wires, coil, condenser & rotor. The carb is getting gas. However I have to prime the carb before I try to start it and it usually just burns the gas in the carb and then dies. It has started and run before but only for maybe 2-5 minutes before dying. When it runs it's like when it warms up and the choke kicks down to idle is when it dies. When I tried to start it yesterday, it just made a "bump" sound and would not even turn over. That may be the battery. I have come to a loss as to what to do next. Any ideas? Thanks.
