Hey, I have no idea on how to approach this issue. No previous transmission problems have occurred before this. Note that this is an inline six Jeep - I do not drive it hard. I recently parked my Jeep. I just went to back it into my garage, and it will not shift into reverse. All other gears work as intended to. At first, it felt like it attempted to reverse, with almost no power. I then put it into park, then into reverse again - no luck. I cycled through the gears, it shifts into each gear, including reverse, but I get no power while in reverse. It is like it is in neutral, the RPM's increase, but that is all. Also, it made an odd noise when I attempted to reverse. It's hard to describe the noise, but it was very vague. I checked the transmission fluid immediately, and the fluid is fine, and appears to be fresh. Any suggestions to this issue? I hope it isn't time for a rebuild... 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo - inline six - non FWD.
