Cant figure this temp issue out-- Jeep Masters Needed

samedi 15 mars 2014

Ok guys here is the run down:

2001 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L with 106K miles

Water pump replaced at 103K

Fail Safe 170 degree thermostat at 103K

All Spark Plugs, Oil and filter

Installed an aluminum radiator 104K

50/50 Mix

So as of two weeks ago I had a lower hose leaking a small small leak. Swapped upper and lower hoses (lower hose did not have the spring in it so used the old one)

A week later I noticed the temp was sitting at 210 and not changing as I drove 50+ or when I spray water into rad.

Pulled the thermostat to find it failed open.

Tossed in a new 160 stant I had on the shelf and drove down the road only to see the 210 constant temp. Came home and parked it.

Jeep has never ran 210 with the lower temp thermostats I run in all of mine so thought maybe head gasket due to 0331 head. Pressure tested to hold 16psi for over 30mins, Ruled out head gasket.

So my question is what else could make the jeep run hot or heat soak it so bad to hold 210?

Electric fan does come on at the correct temp or when I unplug the temp sensor.

Clutch fan?

Could the Aluminum rad go bad in 8 months?

Oil is clean and at level. Trans is at level and has tow package.

Thanks for any help.....

Oh, and all the new parts were put in for maintance/upgrade due to the 100K miles. Did not have any issues running hot, just dont like the 0331 heads to run the factory temps.
