hardwired my GPS the other day into the cig lighter. i used posi taps and a garmin hardwire cable that is pre fabricated. GPS powers up when i turn on the car, and turns off when i disengage the keys.
i can see on the monitor when the GPS runs on battery power or is charging, and the problem now is that it will show as charging for a few minutes, then for a few seconds it will show as running from the battery. it goes back and forth sometimes, one time it even registered as no power source and asked if it should be shut down.
any ideas? i checked the connections, they all seem nice and tight. as i said before, the power seems to be coming or only registering sporadically. thanks
