I have a 97 Jeep TJ 4.0L (6cyl) 3-speed auto on 33"tires and 3.07 gears; dana 30 front, dana 35 rear.
Used to have limited slip in front, but "lost" them last year. Not sure if rear limited slip is even working anymore
I just put on OME HD springs and have a 1"coil spacer. I have roughly a 3" lift. (I need to re-measure when it's not dark to verify).
I just ordered a metalcloak adjustable front track bar and a rear bracket, and have JKS quick disconnects in front.
(And the Crown HD/Cherokee steering linkage and a Durango steering box)
She's my daily driver, and will be for probably the next year or 2.
I don't want to much in the way of off-roading until I have a 2nd vehicle since I need it for work.
But that day will come at some point in the future.
I'm trying to put upgrades in now before something like a 2nd vehicle cuffs my hands with payments and/or gf turns into wife and has different thoughts on money...
What should be my next improvement:
1. adjustable control arms - help with steering and suspension to bring axle to original position (currently stock arms)
or
2. regear to 4.10 or 4.56/4.88 - better fuel economy and oomph (currently 3.07 gears)
3. other (actually, technically my next mod is a new windshield frame as mine is about to rust off).
I plan to do them all, but the saving up part will put months inbetween each, so I have to prioritize one of them.
Opinions/experience on what makes the biggest difference?
Thanks in advance :)
