Wiring harness

I need an expert opinion. I have a 1978 CJ7 with a 360 (was a 304). The guy that had it before me had cut wires under the dash and rewired and even used bandaids on some of the wires instead of electrical tape, just to give an idea of what I am dealing with. My question is, which wiring harness does most people recommend. I have looked at the Painless but they are so expensive. I have looked at another one that is about half the cost. Can somebody tell me if the cheaper ones are just as good as spending $785.00 for the Painless with for a direct replacement for a CJ7.

ignition coil problem

I had a MSD coil on my jeep for years no problem. Jeep started running rough with the module getting hot. I installed a factory coil and jeep just cranks w/o starting. try another coil and it wont start. Put MSD back on and it fires right up still running rough.

any ideas why stock coils wont work?

thanx

Ryan's WK Build

So I've owned my WK since mid-March, and unfortunately haven't done a whole lot since I've owned it, but have a lot of stuff planned in the next few months.

Here's how she looked the first day I brought her home

Added some decals shortly there after, along with a CB

Took off the air deflector thing (whatever it's called ) off

And as of now, that's all he's (yes he. His name is Chalupa Batman) got.

I have 4 2x3 LED lights purchased, that I have yet to install due to not having brackets yet. In addition to installing those, I will also be working on a Custom Fuse and Relay box for the lights and future accessories, thanks to BleepinJeep ( ).

I also plan to plastidip the chrome out, as well as the tail lights sometime soon.

I have lots of plans for CB, but just have to save up my money for it.

TJ I6 to V8 Magnum swap- connector mapping

Hello Everybody;

I have done everything, engine mount, AX-15 Bell housing swapped and fitted to the 318 Magnum perfectly. Connectors C1&C2 just plugged and needs no mods. The rest of the work is around C3 connectors. Part of C3 connector is the C103, C104. they came in the original TJ I6 harness, and must be mapped to C131, C132 that comes with the Magnum 318 engine.

I have the diagrams for all the connectors but cannot interpret all the characters. For example wire number one in C131 is has circuit description "T20 18LB". I know some of the information in the circuit description like "LB", "T", etc. But in many wires I have letters and numbers that I don't know what is it. Is there any resource that contain information about all the letters and numbers used to describe the wires.

I attached some of the diagrams for reference, so maybe one of you guys can guide me or give me a link to location for the data I need.

If some one is willing to swap I would be happy to help in everything I've done yet.

Thanks

DC yoke to standard ujoint yoke

I've had a thought for a while about why I couldnt get my front driveshaft into my 92 yj mainly because there were just holes and were deep enough a u bolt couldnt get through there. I bought a np231 from a guy, however I now realize the front yoke is for a double cardan style joint. I dont have the space nor funds to put a dc joint in there and well a new driveline is out of my budget.

So my question is this, can I take that front yoke off the tcase and replace it with a standard u joint yoke without problems and if so what do I need to buy
(as in splines and length)?

I'm hoping the angle isnt going to be to much for a standard u joint set up to handle. I just put a 2.5 inch lift on it.
