DIY Hard Top Hoist

Used some ideas from this forum to design this hoist for my hard top. I don't have much room in my garage so this works out great. Worm gear hand crank ($27) and pulleys/wire rope all from Harbor Freight. It takes probably 40-50 cranks to get the top up but there is little resistance. Slow and steady which is good for this application. You could do it with a cordless drill too if you wanted to. Didn't want to take up space on the wall (although I think it would be better)...mounted the crank on the ceiling...everything is out of the way. Here are some pictures...
