My 2000 xj 4.0, 4x4 with 166k miles has a shake at 55. Now, I have literaly replaced everything but the steering box and the ball joints. Tie rod, tie rod ends, track bar, drag link/tie rod end on the pitman arm, wheel bearings, everything. Now, I have gotten the tires balanced many times. Still the same issue, sometimes it gets worse sometimes slightly better. Heres the story
For a while, it was good, I had tires and rims from a friend sense my old ones were dented, and once I put them on my shake before was 99% obsolete. I went to chicago, coming home I went over a bumper that separates the highway from the turn on the highway, after that, I had a shake at 55mph. It doesn't make sense to me. I'm at a loss. Alignment should be good. I have yet to have a shop do it but a driveway alignment works well.
Only other idea I got is U joints on the axle. BUT they aren't making any kind of noises or any other signs.
Anyone have any ideas?
