blue leds heated seat pod

Well, its raining so I thought this would be a good rainy day project. I'll assume the pod is already out and go from there. Gently pry the slider knobs off the front of the pod. Most likely the hidden latch that holds these on inside the knobs will partially crap but if you are careful they still stay on after you are done. A very small drop of super glue will hold them on if you dont. Pull the 4 screws on the back of the pod and remove the back cover by gently rocking it. You'll notice the board doesn't want to release. That is because the push button switches on the board latch into the buttons themselves with a snap on the switch shaft. Pry up firmly on the side of the board in the rear in the same vicinity as the buttons on the front and they will release. You wind up with this. The three neo wedge 3 blue leds simply twist in to take the place of the old bulbs that twist out to the left.

There are 4 regular leds that I changed also for the indicators above the switches. Two for the push buttons and two for the heated seat indicators. I had removed the leds for the latter when i took the pic. They are to the left and right or the two resistors at the bottom right of the second pic.

Leds are polarized for the most part so I'll hit on that quickly. The pic shows the cathode and anode and how the longer leg is the anode. Next pic is the led I used and you can see that. Next is the symbol for a led in a wiring diagram. On the board for all 4 leds is the same symbol so you will know which way to solder in the new one.

Measure the installed height of the old leds so you'll have an idea how high to install the new ones. These are the items I used to remove as much solder as I could from the old leds.
