1993 ZJ 6 4.0L. So decided to take a trip up into the mountains this weekend and headed out Friday night. Made it from Sacramento to Chico with no issues. Filled up in Chico and headed up 32 to lassen forest and am about 20 min into it when the engine turns off going up hill on a turn and I come to a stop. No jump or clunk or anything it just turned off. I put it in park took a look under the hood and under the car which had no leaks tried it again and it started up. Drove another 2-3 miles and I died again in the same way. This time it didnt turn back on. Had a buddy tow it to a turn out and left it for the night. Came back with a new battery since mine was already shot. Also found a few forums that stated CPS is the major cause so checked the dealer and they were out so picked one up from napa installed it with no change. Tested spark at coil and plugs and both good. Checked grounding wire and could only find the one on the passenger side which had a good connection on both ends. I even tried adding another temporary grounding wire just to be sure with no change. There is pressure from the fuel line coming through the fuel rail although I am unsure if it is the correct amount of pressure since I dont have anything to test it. Checked all of the fuses. Looked over what I think was all of the wires checking for worn or burnt sections with no luck. Disconnected and reconnected the ECU. The Jeep cranks but does not start. I think my next purchase would be the fuel filter in hopes thats it since it dose not looks like its been replaced. Any ideas?
