My starter went out a few months ago so i replaced it. it didnt sound right when i did it i took it to advance and they said it would be alright. well it started making a grinding noise and it wouldnt turn the engine over. pulled it out and the bushing at the top of the shaft was gone got another starter and it did the same thing i see that the 88 engine calls for a different starter is it possible that the previous owner changed engines out and kept the same starter. the 88 and above says it has 10 teeth and the 87 only has 9 could that be it
