So today I removed my pilot bearing using the grease hammer method, and realized I did not have the same thing for a replacement. On the left is what came out, on the right us what I got with my clutch kit. There was no bushing on the one that came out. It was pushed into the inner hole of the crankshaft. This is not my crankshaft but mine looks the same and this pic shows the inner small pocket where my old pilot bearing was and outer large pocket where the bushing fits.
From what I can find online the bearing should NOT be installed in that inner pocket and should use the bushing and go in the outer pocket.
Am I missing something here? Or did the last owner/person who worked on this screw it up?
