RockAuto A/C Compressors?

jeudi 15 janvier 2015

Good morning,

I am in the process of doing a complete HVAC job on my '99 XJ. The A/C never worked to begin with and a shop told me the compressor needed to be replaced. I could live without A/C but now the Heater Core is leaking, so I figured I should replacing everything while I have it apart. I ordered all of my parts from RockAuto.com and had the R-134a evacuated but now I have some questions regarding the A/C Compressor Kits they offer.

I ordered this kit:

Compressor Info

Manufacturer: GPD

P/N: 6511608

Refrigerant: R-134a

Serial Number: 1406210010

Oil: PAG 46, 190ml

Has anyone else ordered this kit? From everything I have read, the compressor I need is a Sanden SD709 style compressor which uses PAG 100 oil. I am unsure because the label on the compressor I received says to use PAG 46 oil when lubricating. The description on the website link says it is a Sanden SD7H15 but also lists Sanden SD709. My other concern I have is that I need to add oil to the other HVAC components I am replacing. The write up I found on JF (credit: xjguy98) says to use PAG 100 oil for lubricating the Evaporator. I am assuming that these oils circulate through the system and PAG 46 and 100 should not be mixed.

Should I have gotten their other kit? The other kit RockAuto listed use a Four Seasons Compressor that only labels it as a SD709 style:

Has anyone used these Compressor Kits? If so, which one did you use and did you have any issues?
