Hi everyone, my wife and I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7L. It has about 165k miles on it and has not really given us any problems besides some AC issues last month. This past week on my way to work I noticed that the low coolant message appeared. So later that day on my way home and to the parts store the jeep does sort of a lunge and the RPMs start going in the high 4Ks and 5Ks. I quickly manually shift it into second and drive it home. Once I get there I see that the coolant reservoir is completely empty so I fill it back up. Also, the care never did overheat from what the sensor was telling me.
Start some troubleshooting and pull the generic P0700 code. Fluid looked fine. I also got a new speed sensor hoping that it was just that as other people were reporting but that was a no go. The Jeep will still not shift into anything past 2nd gear and if I try to then the RPMs stay at about 4K-5K. Is what I am describing "limp home mode" or does it seem like something else?
Any other ideas as to what it might be causing this problem? Anything else I should try? Thanks!
I know that these things have different transmissions so attached is what I could see from under the car. Hope it means anything.
