It is a 2000 4.0 Jeep Wrangler. The jeep ran and started all day while running errands that then one time just wouldn't start up. The battery barely powered the dash (which took a second to get going) but wouldn't turn over. Tried the connections, they seemed fine. So we jumped the jeep and it started up. Then the battery gauge spiked all the way to 19 and stayed there as we got the jeep home. Once home we turned it off and back on again and we got nothing. Now it won't even power the dash.
I was told there are issues with the "voltage regulator tied into the PCM". Does anyone have experience with this, or suggestions on what to do next?
Also, can someone point out the location of the Voltage Regulator on this year jeep.
Thanks
