I now own the rustiest Jeep I have ever seen

Picked this up as a project vehicle for the youngest son. He'll have work to do as the years pass by and he gets his DL.

PO paid $1000 for this heap after it sat 20 years in a field and replaced the gas tank and fuel lines and oddly enough also fixed the emissions equipment. He did get it to run before being overwhelmed with the rust and dumping it to us on CL for a few hundred. Has the rare bench seats. Color code is Autumn Red and the interior is flax. Flax and mouse crap.

We pulled the top and doors before photos but they are in surprisingly good shape. They would not close however because what little of the body was left is swaybacked. The frame is also in very good shape. The rear horns will need attention, but the rest is solid steel. Weird.

The penetrating oil is still working on the hinges.

If you are going to replace the tub what does it matter if it is 80 or 95% gone? Floors are overrated anyways.

Had to pull the spare off because it was bending what little was left of the body and risked being left behind at the next stop.

We can only guess that Le 4x4 means she is French.

Compression numbers were #1-50psi (!!) and #2-8 125 psi. So she has issues. 93k on the non-working speedo.
In addition she has a front shaft seal leak on the Dana 20, but otherwise runs and drives. Clutch engages high for my likes, but brakes are damn near perfect. Nonetheless it will all come apart.

Plug from #1

This project pictured with the last project - it came in just as bad.
